Interior + Exterior Courthouse Restoration, Upgrades + Renovations

Mercer County Improvement Authority

USA performed an investigative analysis regarding existing conditions of the Mercer County Administration Building. The results concluded that a reorganization of spaces, as well as upgrades to address building code compliance, accessibility, health, life safety, and energy efficiency needed to be improved.

The complete interior renovation and restoration of this courthouse provides for more efficient layouts and creates comfortable, modern spaces for users of the NJ Court Administration, Mercer County Prosecutor and Clerk departments.

This building, slated for the Historic Registry, required masonry and structural repairs, installation of a new roof and windows, as well as asbestos abatement. Original historic finishes on the interior were also preserved.

The building was designed to LEED Silver Standards. A complete building system (MEP) replacement and building envelope restoration made the building more efficient and thermally comfortable.
