Space Programming, Consolidation and New Workspace

VEECO Instruments, Inc.

USA Architects is re-envisioning the form and function of several existing workspaces within Veeco Industries’ facility in Franklin Township. The client has requested that each workspace is characterized by an independent design approach, budget and schedule requirement. One portion of the project consists of the addition of a new, centrally located building entry/reception area, as well as the complete gut/renovation of the existing administrative office suite, including a new patio/outdoor eating area. An existing warehouse area will be converted into manufacturing space that will be utilized for the relocation of facilities that are currently operating in multiple locations in New York state. Veeco’s existing “Final Test” area will be expanded to include adjacent spaces previously used for office, storage, and conference space.  As a result, efficiency will be gained in creating one large space that is easy to navigate and service from a utility perspective.

The new design incorporates an HVAC Building Automation System, which will aid in the overall goal of improving the energy efficiency of all building systems. All new HVAC equipment will be connected to the system, as well as existing equipment that is capable of integration. New, energy efficient LED light fixtures will be installed throughout the area of work.

All architectural finishes have been selected with environmental impact in mind.  Paints will be low or zero VOC and ceiling tiles have up to 56% recycled content.
