The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived! Bucks County’s Diversion, Assessment, Restoration, and Treatment (DART) Center celebrated its highly anticipated ribbon cutting alongside community members and county leadership.
It’s incredible to see how far DART has come—from searching for the right site six years ago, to breaking ground in July 2023, to officially opening its doors in March 2026. DART will provide safe transitional housing and behavioral health treatment for individuals involved in the court system, with the goal of diverting them from incarceration by connecting them with the resources and support they need. Residents from Montgomery County will also have access to treatment at the facility.

The 23,000-sf center offers housing ranging from two weeks to a year, depending on the program. DART provides three programs within the residential treatment center, designed to treat and help individuals successfully reintegrate into their communities.
Short-Term Assessment and Stabilization: This program allows up to 8 individuals to get evaluated and referred to their placement and future treatment.
Restoration of Competency Unit: This program allows up to 4 individuals involved in the criminal justice system to receive treatment since they are deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial.
Community Integration: This program allows up to 16 individuals to receive treatment and develop living skills to live independently once returning to their community.

The facility includes 16 bedrooms, administrative space, treatment space, group counseling spaces, and a life skills room where residents can earn ServSafe certification and gain valuable food service training for employment after release.

USA Architects began the design of a mental health facility that would ultimately feel less institutional, while maintaining the security, safety, and level of care needed for its patients. We are proud to have been part of such a transformative project supporting the Bucks County and Montgomery County communities. Through strong collaboration with county partners and dedicated contractors, like our friends at Jingoli, this project represents a meaningful step toward treating mental illness with care and the support individuals deserve.
