After over 40 years in the industry—and more than 25 years with USA Architects—Pete leaves behind a legacy of exceptional design, trusted client relationships, and dedicated mentorship. Throughout his career, he has overseen hundreds of successful projects, guided generations of architects and designers, and helped shape the firm’s regionally recognized K-12 Education Studio.
Pete Campisano and USA Architects
Since joining USA Architects in 2000, Pete has contributed to more than 900 projects, becoming one of the firm’s most respected leaders and trusted advisors. His extensive institutional knowledge, collaborative leadership style, and dedication to enhancing public education through the built environment have been instrumental in establishing K-12 Education Design as one of USA’s core practice areas.
Pete’s impact extends far beyond project execution. He has fostered a culture centered on mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning, always taking the time to guide emerging professionals and transform everyday challenges into teaching moments. His commitment to developing the next generation of architects has helped strengthen the firm’s future. Equally meaningful are the relationships Pete cultivated with his clients—many of these partnerships have lasted more than 15 years, evolving into lifelong friendships.
Client Testimonies
Pete’s dedication to his clients is perhaps best reflected in the words of those who worked alongside him throughout his career.
“...Pete provides extra attention on any and every project because of our strong relationship; I think that is just the way Pete operates as he invests his whole self, as well as his firm, in all projects.” — Ed Stoloski, Former Superintendent, East Amwell Township School District
“I have said it numerous times over the years that if it were up to me and I could have Pete and his firm design and administer every project in the Township, my life as a Manager would be a lot easier...[he] is as professional and competent as any professional appointment I have had the pleasure of working with in my capacity of Township Manager.” — Bernard P. Hvozdovic Jr., Former Township Manager, South Brunswick Township
“USA’s Principal Peter Campisano... crafted a referendum to fund the construction of a new middle school...In December of 2016 NBT residents passed an $78.9 Million Referendum. This would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of USA and Mr. Pete Campisano.” — Dr. Brian Zychowski, Ed.D., Superintendent, North Brunswick Township Public Schools
The K-12 Education Studio Legacy
While Pete’s retirement marks the end of an exceptional career, it also represents the continuation of a legacy he helped build. Known for his thoughtful, methodical approach and commitment to mentoring, Pete retires with confidence in the future of USA’s K-12 Studio. Having worked alongside Principal Michael Bryson, CDT for more than 20 years, and Project Manager Carrie Zegarski, AIA for over 15 years, Pete has played an integral role in preparing the studio’s next generation of leadership.
Principal Michael Bryson, CDT, with 28 years of industry experience, has worked with countless K-12 clients at USA Architects for 23 years, and is known today for his rigorous project management style, providing clients with strict adherence to schedule, budget, and technical coordination, ensuring clarity, consistency, and reliability throughout all phases of design and construction. Project Manager Carrie Zegarski, AIA, with 30 years of industry experience and 17 at USA Architects, is known for building strong relationships with both clients and colleagues, consistently supporting and collaborating with those around her to deliver successful projects. From reviewing plans and attending client meetings to coaching staff and sharing decades of experience, Pete ensured that knowledge was passed on every step of the way. His mentorship has positioned Michael, Carrie, and the entire K-12 team to continue delivering exceptional educational spaces for school districts throughout the region.
As Pete begins this well-earned retirement, USA Architects celebrates not only an outstanding career, but also the lasting legacy of leadership, mentorship, and service that he leaves behind.
