Since 2016, Far Hills Country Day School (FHCDS) has been embarking on a strategic plan to establish “One Vision of the Future,” a master plan that lays out the primary goals for transforming the existing learning spaces, common areas and main entrance.
Phase 1 renovations include updating three outdated science labs and modernizing six upper school classrooms. Phase 2 includes the transformation of the existing Arcadium into a 21st century Learning Commons—a shared space for information technology, remote or online education, tutoring, collaboration, content creation, meetings, socialization, playing games, and studying. Phase 2 also includes alterations to the main entry of the school. The design of the learning commons features accessible access off the corridor, tier seating, a chair lift, and two small breakout rooms. The main entry alteration reconfigures the long entry corridor into a new, secure vestibule, security office, and two small conference areas. It also includes a new lounge and mail/work room.
Prior to Phase 1 design services, USA had completed a facilities assessment of the campus, and is presently completing several deferred maintenance capital improvements.
