USA Architects, as the building envelope specialist, is a key part of the development/design team with Sink Combs Dethlefs Architects of Denver, CO, to design and construct a new 8,500 seat arena complex that is home to the Flyers’ top minor league affiliate, the Phantoms.

The firm was responsible for all of the technical design of the building envelope which included exterior walls, windows, curtainwall and 151,287 sf of thermoplastic roofing system with 21,120 square feet designated as extensive green roofing systems.

Additionally the team served as the local construction administrator for the design team which expanded into full-time site representation at the request of the developer and contractor.

The arena also functions as a performance/sports venue for concerts, arena football or professional lacrosse. This multi-million dollar project is part of the City’s redevelopment plan to transform and revive the downtown business district in the City of Allentown, PA.

The complex includes a 7-story, 180-room Hotel; a 7-story Office Building with 125-space underground Parking Garage; a Public Parking Garage, Mixed Use Retail Shops, Apartment Complex, Restaurants, Cafés and a Sports Bar. It was funded by the Allentown Neighborhood Improvement Zone tax
